Important points of Samples and Reagents Declaration
After receiving an approval notice, please proceed with the necessary procedures through the User Support System.
Due date
Submit the required documents two weeks prior to your visit.
Points and examples of entry
Each sample being applied for will be assigned an individual sample ID (a number used to manage the samples).
*Please be sure to fill in the unit in the form. Many people omit the units in the "Dimensions and weight of material" section.
Examples and important points of Samples and Reagents Declaration are listed below.
When experiment samples are different types (name of substance, chemical formulas or elements, type of substance at measurements, dimensions and weight of material, sample cell, conditions for use, etc.) .
Please set up each field such as kinds and experimental conditions by adding a sample, not all of them in one field.
Example: 1 piece of copper plate 15mm × 16mm × 15mm (room temperature), 1 piece of copper plate 20mm × 20mm × 20mm (room temperature), 1 piece of copper powder 2g (vanadium cell, room temperature), 2 pieces of copper powder 5g (vanadium cell, nitrogen gas sealed, 473K) to be measured.
When experiment samples have different composition ratios.
Please add each sample separately, even if the chemical formulas or elements are similar and the composition ratios are different.
Example: For samples with different composition ratios of Lithium Nickel Cobalt Oxide, 1 piece of "Li0.5Ni0.5CoO2" and 2 pieces of "Li0.3Ni0.7CoO2“ to be measured.
When the experiment sample is composed of multiple substances, such as battery, alloy, or thin film with several layers
Please fill in all chemical formulas or elements and insert "/" or "-" between them.
Example: One battery (Li/Li3PO4/LiCoO2/SrRuO3/SrTiO3) to be measured.
Example: 2 pieces of alloy “Fe-Mn-Co” to be measured.
Example: 3 pieces of multilayer thin film (Fe3O4/Fe2O/Si) to be measured.
When multiple samples which are the same substances and have the same chemical formula are measured at once.
Please fill in "1" in the "Number of samples" field and write "Measure together" in the "Conditions for use" field.
Example: 100 pieces of thin film (SrTiO3) at once to be measured.
In case your comment exceeds the character limit in the "Conditions for use" field, please write "Refer" in the “Conditions for use" field and write "Measure together" in the "Additional Information" field.
When experiment samples are enclosed in a cell with a solution or gas.
Please fill in all solutions or gases you use to enclose with in the "Sample cell (container) and reactivity" field.
Please add a new sample for each experimental condition, if the enclosed materials with differ for each measurement.
Example: Thin film (SrRuO3/Si) in a cell containing "heavy water and nitrogen“ to be measured.
Example: 1 piece of thin film (SrRuO3/Si) containing "hydrochloric acid" and 2 pieces of thin films (SrRuO3/Si) containing "sodium hydroxide" to be measured.
In addition, if experiment samples were measured by other projects and/or in other beamlines.
Please submit an application for each project or BL. In such cases, please add the previous project number and sample ID in the "Conditions for use."
Example: The single crystal measured with proposal number "2023B●●●●" and sample ID "2302●●●●001" to be measured again.
In case your comment(description) exceeds the character limit.
Please write "Refer" in the field and describe the details in the "Additional information" section. If there are multiple references, describe by numbering them such as "Refer 1," "Refer 2," etc.
Example: There is too much information to enter for "chemical formula" and "dimensions and weight" due to character limit restrictions.
After submission
A chemical safety survey will be conducted by the Support team for chemicals, and as a result, a SAMPLE RISK ASSESSMENT SHEET will be issued. It will be sent to the user via the User's Office.
SAMPLE RISK ASSESSMENT SHEET
After submitting the Sample and Reagents Declaration, it will be examined by the Support team for chemicals, and a SAMPLE RISK ASSESSMENT SHEET will be issued. This sheet includes handling precautions for the sample, so, please confirm it.
